Jaguar Mk1 Radiator
Upgraded New Core to 4 row X with boxfolds
Radiator - Upgrade
Radiator upgrades improve the performance of the radiator, which may be required if over heating consistently occurs e.g. when driving up hill or when the vehicle is operating in an unusually hot environment. An upgraded core can also be fitted to a radiator, regardless of the current level of performance, at the request of the customer.
Examples of Upgrades:
Increase number of tubes. Fit the radiator with a core with 10mm centre tubes, as opposed to the 15mm centre tubes it previously came in with. This would see quite a percentage increase in efficiency.
Increase number of rows of tubes. Where space permits, add extra rows of tubes to increase efficiency.
Plant radiators would be changed from a pack construction core to a GOT (gill on tube) pattern, to strengthen the radiator.
Fit a copper and brass core. Replace the aluminium core with a copper and brass core. The copper and brass core is repairable which will save money over the life span of the radiator.
Fit a tinned core. Improve longevity of the core by fitting a tinned core. Particularly useful if the radiator is operating in harsh environments e.g. marine, construction etc.
Radiator upgrades have been carried out at Newquay Radiators and Exeter Radiators since 1982.
