Days Out

NEC Birmingham - The 35th Anniversary Edition of the Classic Motor Show

Read blog

Cornwall Motorfest - The event may be in its infancy, but there is so much going on it's definitely worth a visit.  The soap box race was an unbelievable event - it took imagination and a  lot of courage to take part !!  The evening entertainment was first class on both nights - groups and music was great !!

Great Trethew Vintage Rally - There were lots of classic, vintage and vehicles of special interest exhibiting, and there was a variety of events held in the arena. Roy's dancing digger was my favourite, especially when he cracked the boiled egg with his digger !!

West Somerset Railway Association Vintage Rally - Another great weekend with plenty to see and do. The huge display of military vehicles was most interesting to wander around.

Boconnoc Steam Fair - An amazing number of steam engines in one show. The sight, sound and smell of the engines is intoxicating - it makes you want to get your hand dirty !!

Wadebridge Wheels - A one day event held at the Royal Cornwall Showground. The large venue accommodated a vast number and range of exhibiting vehicles. There was something for everyone - motorcycles, classic and vintage vehicles, american hot-rods, and the rest !!

South Devon Railway 1940's Festival - A boiling hot weekend (most unlike our usual summer weekends!!) - I did feel for everyone wearing their military uniforms, but they all looked great and it all added to the overall 1940's experience. There were many interesting military vehicles from the era, and the star of the show was the  T-34 Russian Tank.

Darts Farm Classic Car Show - This is an idyllic venue to host a classic car show. Everything is so genteel and relaxing. We quite easily whiled away a few hours, listening to the music and enjoying the food.

BHP Fuel Fest - A contrast to the classic car shows. This show is about the noisier the better, the bigger the better and the faster the better !!

Killerton Classic Car Show - We spent a very enjoyable day at the Killerton Classic Car Show, held within the grounds of Killerton House, which is owned by the National Trust.  There was a great turn out of classic and vintage vehicles exhibiting; and appreciative visitors arrived in their droves.

Callington Vintage Rally - This was only the 2nd year for the Callington Vintage Rally, and it had a good following. We took our Ford Sierra Cosworth along, which was it's first trip out this year. The event was well organised and everyone was friendly. The first weekend in May will be a date to put in our diary for future years.

We're the cool radiator people who keep the South West (and beyond) moving !!
